DescriptionThe oddest of all the Immortals, Lan Chai He is also called Lan Ts'ai-ho. Born about 900 AD, Lan was either a young tomboy-ish girl or a hermaphradite. At the age of 14 he/she accidently ate a divine fruit and became immortal. Often depicted carrying a basket of flowers or a flute, Lan Chai He form is characterized by extreme limberness and youthful exuberance. The famous Cotton Fist (Mien Chien) was later derived from this style.
